I started skiing when I was 40ish.\u00a0 After a few lessons on Kidsgrove dry slope we drove with the Clark family to Valmorel for a couple of seasons.\u00a0 Then we went with them to Oburgurgle for another couple of holidays.\u00a0 Dougal then became a ski bum in Chamonix and we went out there.\u00a0 At the same time we joined a group, Godfrey and Heather, Guy and Joanna, Mark and Alison, Joe and Linda, and stayed in catered chalets in Val d’Isere, Miribel and St Anton.\u00a0 We also did a week with the Clarks in Isgul.\u00a0 When Pauline and I divorced my skiing stopped for a number of years.\u00a0 I joined David and Ailsa in Les Arcs in their apartment after\u00a05 years and as I write this have just come back from La Plagne where I spent a week with Mike, Martin and John Day, after a further 10 year gap.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
