The Yacht Club sent two crews to this event, a sort of recreation of the picture of 1000 boats on the River Thames by Canaletto. The event was well organised with a campsite at Richmond. We were on the river after coffee in our fancy dress and mindful of the fact we were going to be in the boat for a long time, last minute wees. We waited holding onto a pontoon to be told when to set off. Our neighbouring boat was a crew from Australia. Then we rowed in leisurely fashion behind the Gloriana alongside many many boats. The weather was poor and we got absolutely soaked at the end whilst we waited for the boat to take us back to the camp site.
