Cycling

I had a tricycle as a little boy, one with a chain. My first bike was a second hand black sit-up-and-beg machine with rod brakes, purchased from the local vicar. I bought a racing bicycle when I was 15 but when I bought a car I lost interest in cycling and although I sent my bike by train to Bristol when I started at the University I never collected it. My current machine, a Dawes touring bike with 12 gears and drop handlebars, I purchased in 1981for £430.
