Women are the great consumers. Just look at their makeup stuff and all the creams and potions; look at the clothes they keep buying – I need a new outfit for …. Then there’s the celebration of Christmas which involves buying (usually useless) presents for all the family and small items for all their female friends and wrapping everything up in expensive wrapping paper. Then of course there’s the celebration of everyone’s birthday, all family members and female friends, with at least a card but usually with a present as well. Any male that criticises this excess is labelled with ‘Ya Boo Humbug’ – I just want everything to be nice. In many cases that extends to the home where furniture and furnishings have to be just so – I just want everything to be nice.
It’s a shame really as they don’t understand that they are being materialistic and bringing their children to be as well. They do so much more to keep families and homes together than men generally but their ‘I just want everything to be nice’ behaviour is creating so much waste and does very little to increase everyone’s happiness.
