Asking supermarkets to prioritise healthy food really doesn’t address the problem of junk food. It’s the takeaway industry that supplies most of this – the likes of McDonalds, Greg’s, KFC, Burger King, coco cola. They advertise freely and try to attract children who then become addicted-yes addicted, as there is good evidence that these foods are addictive. Surely it would be more effective simply to stop these companies advertising, as a first step, than what is proposed. I suspect that vested interests makes this unlikely, or am I just being cynical?
